Building others up

While taking down the Christmas tree tonight I realized how quickly it comes down compared to how long it takes to put it up. For me it's time consuming because I want it to look a certain way- you know all evenly spaced out? When you take it down it doesn't matter- it just all goes in a box and your done. I looked at the tree 3/4 of the way broken down and heard The Holy Spirit remind me of just how easy it is to "Break and tear others down." How much harder and intentional it is to build someone up." My prayer is that I intentionally take time to make sure I am building and lifting others up no matter how long it requires. We live in a world where so many are breaking one another down. I pray for a kind and forgiving heart when it's directed at me, and the mercy and grace needed when I have caused it.

Jeremiah 24:6 "I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not pluck them up."

May we all be more intentional in showing God's love.
