Be Still

If you have ever had some form of surgery, you know it can be very scary. It is a combination of many factors. For some it is the anesthesia- of being “Out.” Why is that? For many it’s because they are taken out of the equation, they have no control. Some do not like surgery because of the fear of “Will the doctor do a good job?” “Do they have enough experience?” “Will this surgery help me?” Lastly when they come in to give the anesthesia you are saying goodbye to your “control” and putting all your trust in those doctors and nurses. Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” We need to let go of the control for our lives understanding the Lord has wonderful plans for us, because His way is always better than our way. There is no need to worry, be afraid or even try to figure it out – God is in control!! Us trying to be in control of our lives can hinder what God has planned for us. Lastly since we know His word is true, our job is to be still, know He is God, trusting it will work out because his ways are perfect – perfect for each one of us.

Weekly Take Away:

Giving up control is hard, and a issue for most everyone. We are just wired to handle things ourselves and yet that is not how God wants it be. Ask God to reveal you some areas where He is trying to fix things and your trying to be in control.
